Information Governance (IG)
The use of personal confidential data in health care can be confusing and complex. This training provides staff with an introduction to information governance, how to share information safely & securely, to include confidentiality and data protection in an easy to understand and straightforward way.
Who is the course for?
This course is for all staff that share information and need to ensure personal information is dealt with legally, securely, efficiently and effectively.
Aim of the course
Participants will be able to understand what IG is and ensure they use any information in the appropriate way.

- Personal, confidential, private and anonymous information;
- How I.G applies to their role;
- Best Practice;
- Keeping information secure and confidential;
- How to share information safely & securely.
The course lasts 4 hours and will involve participant participation, group activity and open discussions in a relaxed learning environment. Upon successful completion of multiple-choice questionnaire, a certificate will be awarded. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help throughout.
This course will enhance the staff member’s knowledge and understanding of information governance, meeting the NHS contractual agreement whilst promoting best practise in the work place.
This course links directly to the Care Certificate and Diplomas in Health & Social Care; it can be cross-referenced for evidence towards these awards.
