Information Governance and GDPR

This training provides staff with an introduction to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Information Governance (IG) covering confidentiality and the new data protection laws.

Who is the course for?

This course is for all staff who need to ensure personal information is dealt with legally, securely.

Aim of the course

Participants will learn what GDPR and IG is and ensure they use any information in the appropriate manner.

• What is personal, confidential, private and anonymous information

• How GDPR and IG applies to your role and care home

• Data Processors vs. data controllers

• Best Practice

Assessment

The course lasts 4 hours and will involve student participation, group activity and open discussions in a relaxed and informal learning environment.

Upon the successful completion of a multiple-choice questionnaire, a certificate will be awarded. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help throughout.

Important Information

This is mandatory and required by law. It is vital training for staff who care and manage people within a care setting. This training will also assist Health and Social Care diploma candidates with their learning.
