Paediatric Emergency First Aid Level 3: 1 Day Course

This course is aimed at those who have an interest in child and infant emergency first aid and will give learners the confidence to be able to deal with a child or infant who is injured or unwell.

The course syllabus covers a range of subjects:

• Roles and responsibilities
• Assessment of the situation
• Resuscitation
• Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
• Wounds and bleeding
• Shock (Including Anaphylaxis)
• Minor injuries
• Epilepsy

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course, by the instructor, through a range of practical scenarios. There is also a written assessment at the end of the day. On successful completion of the course the learner will be issued with a Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (Level 6 in Scotland). The qualification is valid for 3 years.
