Fire Safety

Fire safety is vital and mandatory. For the care homes, fire safety is far more specialised than in other industries. You need to know how to help those with challenging behaviours and mobility to evacuate.

Participants will gain an overall understanding of what to do to make yourself and residents in your care safe.

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for all members of staff.

Aim of the course

This course will provide employees with the knowledge they need to be able to make informed decisions and to take the right action should a fire occur.

What we will cover

  • How to identify potential fire hazards and prevent them
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Managing complex behaviours in the event of a fire
  • How to stay calm and maintain control

Assessment

The course lasts 4 hours and will involve student participation, group activity and open discussions in a relaxed and informal learning environment.

Upon the successful completion of a multiple-choice questionnaire, a certificate will be awarded. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help throughout.

Important Information

This is mandatory training, it is vital training for staff who care and manage people within a care setting. This training will also assist Health and Social Care diploma students with their learning.
