Nutrition and Hydration
Who is the course for?
This course is aimed at any member of staff who works in health and social care.
Aim of the course
Participants will gain a good understanding of the importance of nutrition and hydration in people with Dementia and the impact of malnutrition and dehydration.
What will we cover
- Principles of hydration and nutrition
- Identify different individual needs
- Identify the symptoms of poor nutrition and hydration
- Importance of mealtimes
- Identify reasons for poor eating
Assessment
The course lasts 4 hours and will involve student participation, group activity and open discussions in a relaxed and informal learning environment.
Upon the successful completion of a multiple-choice questionnaire, a certificate will be awarded. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help throughout.
Important Information
This course is vital to ensure you have the skills to recognise the importance of nutrition and hydration. This training will also assist Health and Social Care diploma students with their learning.
