EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK LEVEL 3: 1 Day Course

This course is aimed at those individuals who have been identified by their workplace, to undertake the role of an emergency first aider or for those who simply want to gain the skills and knowledge to be able to assist somebody who is injured or unwell.

The course syllabus covers a range of subjects:

  • Role and responsibility of the first aider
  • Basic hygiene in first aid
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Primary survey
  • Resuscitation including safe use of an AED
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Seizures
  • Choking
  • Wounds and bleeding control
  • Shock
  • Minor injuries
  • Burns

Assessment is ongoing throughout the day, by the instructor, through a range of practical scenarios. There is also a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the day. On successful completion of the course, students will be issued with a Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 6 in Scotland). This qualification is valid for 3 years, however it is recommended that learners attend an annual refresher within that period.

This course can be delivered either at your premises or at our dedicated training department.
