Equality and Diversity

Everyone should be treated fairly and equally. This course provides an introduction to the Equality Act 2010 and teaches how to avoid discrimination through your words and actions. It will help you to promote a fairer, more tolerant and more diverse working environment.

Who is the course for?

This course is suitable for all staff involved in the care setting, as everyone in the workplace has a responsibility for supporting equality and diversity. It is also vital training for anyone involved in interviewing and recruitment.

Aim of the course

Participants will understand how to treat people fairly and equally and identify discrimination and inequality whilst working within the legislation guidelines.

• The Equality Act 2010

• The 9 Protected characteristics

• Indirect and direct discrimination

• Victimisation and harassment

• Key legislation

Assessment

The course lasts 4 hours and will involve student participation, group activity and open discussions in a relaxed and informal learning environment.

Upon the successful completion of a multiple-choice questionnaire, a certificate will be awarded. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help throughout.

Important Information

This is a mandatory requirement required by law, it is vital training for staff who care and manage people within a care setting. This training will also assist Health and Social Care diploma candidates with their learning.
