Julie Brown
Training and Development Manager
Julie Brown was promoted to Training Centre Manager at Capulet Care in September 2023, a role that recognises her extensive experience and commitment to excellence in health and social care education.
Julie’s career began in 1996 at Woodford House, where she started as a Kitchen Assistant while still in high school. Within six months, her passion for care led her to leave school and become a full-time Care Assistant. She quickly progressed, earning her Level 2 NVQ in Care, and was promoted to Senior Care Assistant within a year. Julie went on to complete her Level 3 and 4 NVQs in Care, the Registered Managers Award, and the D32/33 Assessors Award.
In 2005, Julie transitioned into a training and education role as a Health and Social Care Assessor for a private training provider. Over the next decade, she gained her V1 Internal Verifier qualification, PTLLS award, Level 3 NVQ in Customer Service, and a Level 4 Diploma in Initial Advice and Guidance, leading to her being given the title of Head of Quality and Quality Assurance Coordinator. She also trained as a Moving and Handling Instructor and built valuable experience in the apprenticeship framework as both an Assessor and Internal Verifier. In 2016, Julie briefly worked as a Care Co-ordinator for a private Home Care company.
Julie returned to Capulet Care in October 2016, playing a pivotal role in establishing the organisation’s training centre with the awarding body, i Can Qualify. She has since assessed and verified qualifications from Levels 2 to 5 in Health and Social Care and other care related qualifications and has mentored new assessors within the company. Her contributions have been instrumental in developing policies and procedures that enabled the delivery of Apprenticeships in Care starting in 2022.
Most notably, Julie served as the nominee during Quality of Care’s first full Ofsted inspection, where her leadership helped secure a ‘Good’ overall rating, with an ‘Outstanding’ in the category of Behaviours and Attitudes.
Dedicated to continuous development, Julie began studying part-time for a BSc in Health Science in January 2022, further demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and the advancement of quality care education.
