Who is the course for?
This course is essential for anyone who works in a health and social care environment.
Aim of the course
Participants will be able to confidently move and handle residents in a safe and legal way. It will enable staff to understand safe moving and handling practices, individual risk assessment, how to use equipment safely, and always have comfort and safety in the forefront of their mind.
They will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of moving & handling in respect of people and objects, as well as a proactive understanding of how to prevent falls by minimising risks, and how to react in the event of a person falling.

Assessment
The course lasts 6 hours and will involve student participation, practical group activity and open discussions in a relaxed and informal learning environment.
Upon the successful completion of a multiple-choice questionnaire and a moving & handling practical assessment, a certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of both the theory and practical assessments. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help throughout.
Important Information
There is a statutory obligation for moving and handling. This session ensures participants are fully up to date with regards to their moving and handling responsibilities. This training will also assist Health and Social Care Diploma students with their learning.
