Aim of the course

This qualification is for those who wish to develop the knowledge of the causes and symptoms of dementia and will enable learners develop the awareness for providing positive care for people with dementia and their families.

Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care

The person-centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia

Dementia Awareness

Understand the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia

Assessment

To achieve this qualification via certification through the awarding body, iCQ; learners must achieve 8 credits.

iCQ qualifications are internally assessed, primarily through the creation of a portfolio of evidence. This portfolio demonstrates the learner's achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Evidence can include observation of performance, examination of products, questioning, professional discussion, reflective accounts, and witness testimony.
