Aim of the course

This qualification is for those who wish to develop knowledge and understanding of dementia care and how to support people with dementia and their families.

What We Will Cover

Understand the process and experience of dementia

Understand the administration of medication to individuals with dementia using a person-centred approach

Understand the role of communication and interactions with individuals who have dementia

Understand the diversity of individuals with dementia and the importance of inclusion

Assessment

To achieve this qualification via certification through the awarding body, iCQ; learners must achieve 11 credits.

iCQ qualifications are internally assessed, primarily through the creation of a portfolio of evidence. This portfolio demonstrates the learner's achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Evidence can include observation of performance, examination of products, questioning, professional discussion, reflective accounts, and witness testimony.
