Aim of the course

The purpose of this qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of falls prevention, in the context of health and social care.

Understanding the factors and risks of falls

Understanding the assessment, recording and reporting requirements of falls

Understanding best practice in relation to falls management

Assessment

To achieve this qualification via certification through the awarding body, iCQ; learners must achieve 14 credits.

iCQ qualifications are internally assessed, primarily through the creation of a portfolio of evidence. This portfolio demonstrates the learner's achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Evidence can include observation of performance, examination of products, questioning, professional discussion, reflective accounts, and witness testimony.
