Aim of the course
Learners will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of caring for vulnerable people in a way which promotes individualisation, person-centred approaches, and respect for individual needs and beliefs.

• To have an awareness of the Equality Act 2010
• To know what protected characteristics are and the different types of discrimination
• To understand types of Communication and their uses
• To understand Dignity and Empowerment
• To be aware of the legislations relating to dignity
• To be aware of best practice in care
Assessment
The course lasts 3 hours and will involve student participation, group activity and open discussions in a relaxed and informal learning environment.
Upon the successful completion of a multiple-choice questionnaire, a certificate will be awarded. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help throughout.
